Encore Dental of Lacey

I went in for the worst toothache of my life. After a weekend of suffering the office got me in as early as possible on a Monday (November 6, 2023) and although I had to wait they made sure I was comfortable and seen. First the regular dentist Dr. Patel (she is amazing) found the problem a rear loose tooth that appeared infected, spoke to the oral surgeon who was on site and recommended two options. One was a cleaning as my gums are getting old and worn but noted this would be a meticulous routine of cleaning that could go on for a while and may not be the solution I need. The second option was pull the tooth and call it a day. I opted for that as it is the furthest bottom back tooth. So after a small wait they did just that. Dr. Elisa Bland (also amazing) came in, explained what was going on, shot me up, eased my massive anxiety (her staff & nurses are also a team of amazing women) and numbed my mouth. Then I swear in less than a minute pulled that tooth out. No pain at all, at least not then. They gave me my prescriptions, explained my post-op (several times as I was in a daze), gave me written directions also as I was so out of it and sent me on my way. Two days in & my swelling is so bad, moving around my face and quite honestly scaring me, I emailed Dr. Bland which was given to me in the written instructions. I explained what was happening and my fears and within an hour she responded herself from her iPhone. She definitely put my mind at ease and explained my infection was so bad & that this was normal. She also offered to see me if I needed that to ease my mind. I decided to be a big girl and ride it out a few more days, it is only what they consider day two. I highly recommend the entire Team at Encore. Most people are not thrilled to go to the dentist and they make it way easier even for adults who are in pain and scared of the unknows. I don't ever write reviews, but I can't say enough good things about this office and the staff. I have avoided the dentist for so long because I have severe anxiety of having dental work done. Everyone that works there is so friendly and were so great at putting my mind at ease. I feel like my whole perspective has changed now about seeing the dentist and I feel confident about my future visits here and trust that I will be in the best care. I definitely recommend this office if you're in need of dental work!

I was very scared going into the office but Rachel greeted me with a big smile. She took the time to explain everything and eased my mind. Dr. Bland came in and greeted me also with the same pleasant compassionate attitude In short it was the BEST dental experience I ever had and I full heartedly recommend them. They truly put the patient first. Thank you to everyone at Encore Dental especially Dr. Bland and Rachel.

My overall experience with being a new pt was two fold. The dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth was gentle and caring. No pain after cleaning. Meeting Provider Krupa Patel was also pleasant. The serious issue I have is Dr Patel mentioned in conversation that I might consider getting a new Crown. With that being said, I knew I had other issues to deal with so a Crown was not up for consideration. To my surprise, without my approval Encore office in Lacey submitted an authorization request twice to my ins company for a Crown and was denied. My issue is I never said I wanted a new Crown so why did office submit something to my ins company. Scared to think if a non authorized request was approved!!! Dental cleaning experience 5 stars, but office billing practices questionable to say the least.

I’m not one to bash a business however, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. It’s a shame, they were the best pre COVID. Managers NEVER work, employees don’t care to help. I’m in healthcare & can’t imagine treating a patient this way WITH NO ANSWERS!! So far Rita and whoever the manager is (she’s NEVER THERE WHEN I CALL, no matter the day or time) have been no help. All well on to a new dentist… I have been calling for TWO MONTHS so no your not trying to help me and my call logs prove how many times I’ve tried.. on hold again for the manger. So this is the update to their reply

My 14 year old needed braces today. We have been going here for about 2 years now for regular checkups but today was a different story. My daughter was super nervous but the Orthodontist was excellent! She explained everything in “normal” speak and Heather put her braces on. My daughter left feeling confident and pretty :) I would definitely recommend for all dental services. Super clean facility and the staff from start to finish is amazing
